ESL reflection 2

During my freshman year and junior year in high school, I had my best experience with a foreign language teacher. My teacher's name was Senor Davis and the way that he ran our spanish class was unlike any other foreign language class I have ever taken. Senor Davis' main method of teaching us the Spanish language was through story telling and class activities. During class, we would act out stories with props in order to learn vocabulary when we were at the basic level during our freshman year. We would also play games like Simon Says in order to further enhance our vocabulary skills. Later, during the more advanced years in Spanish, we learned a lot through reading stories and writing reflections about these stories. By working this way, we were able to use context clues in order to figure out grammar and vocabulary on our own. We also had daily conversations in class about different topics, forcing us to practice speaking our Spanish and to learn from listening to and correcting our peers and vise versa. The best part of Senor Davis' class was how supportive and encouraging he was as a teacher. He made class fun, so it was a comfortable learning environment, and none of his students were afraid to make mistakes while practicing their Spanish.
